These were the officers quarters at Fort Smith. There are about 20 structures still standing on the fort site. This is a National Historic Site and the park service did a great job keeping many of the buildings in such great shape. Two of the buildings pictured here are decorated in period furniture and artifacts. We spent about 2 hours touring the fort before heading east for the night.
